The 2026 national holiday schedule published by the General Office of the State Council confirms that the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday runs from Friday, September 25, through Sunday, September 27.

What Is the Mid-Autumn Festival?
The Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节, Zhongqiu Jie) falls on the 15th day of the eighth month of the traditional Chinese lunar calendar.
The eighth lunar month generally falls around September or October in the Gregorian calendar. The festival is traditionally associated with the full moon because the 15th day of a lunar month is normally close to the full moon.
The word “Mid-Autumn” reflects its position in the traditional Chinese seasonal calendar: it occurs around the middle of autumn.
