📖 The Origin of Teacher’s Day in China
Teacher’s Day was officially established in 1985 by the Chinese government to promote respect for teachers and value for education. The date, September 10, was chosen to reflect the importance of nurturing knowledge and honoring those who dedicate themselves to teaching.
Rooted in ancient Confucian values like “尊师重道” (respect the teacher and value the Way), China has long held teachers in high esteem. As the classic saying goes,
“He who teaches me for a day is my teacher for life.”
